CalPortland Strike: Day 1 Photos

August 11, 2017

Today was Day 1 of Teamsters Local 174’s Unfair Labor Practice strike against Sand & Gravel Company CalPortland.

Here are some of the photos from the day:

The day featured some stunning displays of both malice and incompetence by CalPortland managers …

Local 174 member Brett Gallagher still smiling after being intentionally hit by a concrete mixer truck driven by a supervisor. The police were called and the incident is under investigation.

A concrete mixer truck driven by a supervisor drives down the road with the chute down. [that’s bad]

But the day also included stunning solidarity and courage from Local 174 members across the region who stood firm against their Employer’s misconduct at the bargaining table:

Overall, it was a proud day for Local 174, for the Teamsters as a whole, and for Labor Unions everywhere. ROCK SOLID!
