OPEIU Local 8 has a group of members who have been out on strike for a week at Welfare & Pension Inc. on Mercer Island. The strike was called after the group’s employer made a last, best and final offer to them that attacked the fundamental principles of worker rights and would have devastated their standard of living and morale.

The Teamsters Local 174 truck and several staff members stopped by today to greet the group and show our support and solidarity. If you have time to stop by Mercer Island and honk in support of their picket line, please do so! The picket is at 7525 SE 24th St., Mercer Island WA.

To the OPEIU Local 8 members out there on the line, stay strong, and know that Teamsters Local 174 supports you! We know that you will win this!!
