This past Sunday was Teamsters Local 174’s November General Membership Meeting. We had a great turnout, and we welcomed a huge group of new Initiates into our Local:

We went through the business portion of the meeting, including the swearing of the new Initiates by Local 174 President Ted Bunstine, the Trustees’ Report given by Local 174 Trustee Adam Murphy, the reading of the minutes by Recording Secretary Carl Gasca, and then the Secretary-Treasurer’s Report given by Local 174 Secretary-Treasurer Rick Hicks:

The Secretary-Treasurer’s Report included updates on major Teamster political victories this Election Day, given by Local 174 Senior Business Agent Michael Gonzales, an update on APP/World Fuel Services negotiations given by Local 174 Director of Negotiations Patty Warren, and then an update on First Student negotiations by Patty Warren and Local 174 Senior Business Agent Abe Taylor, and an update on UPS negotiations by Local 174 President Ted Bunstine and Senior Business Agent Matt Webby:

APP and First Student Teamsters, whose work groups are both preparing for strikes, had a strong presence at the Membership Meeting:

Secretary-Treasurer Rick Hicks and Senior Business Agent Michael Gonzales also took the time to recognize Anheuser-Busch Teamster Jim Cramer, who is retiring after 25 years as a Teamster Shop Steward:

We closed out the meeting with a drawing for 25 $50 Safeway gift cards. We had the cutest little Teamster helper drawing the names!

We look forward to seeing everyone for the December meeting on Thursday, December 14 at 7:00PM. We will be giving away another 25 $50 Safeway gift cards so make sure you come down to the meeting!
