Historic agreement brings all APP/World Kinect Teamsters in the state under the same contract
APP/World Kinect Teamsters across the state made history over the weekend as they voted overwhelmingly to ratify their first-ever regional agreement. The new contract covers over 100 Teamster fuel haulers at Locals 174, 231, and 58, with the group at Local 58 being newly organized. This contract grows Teamster power in a core industry hungry to organize, while bringing major economic gains to everyone in the group.
The contract contains strong wage increases that will put APP/World Kinect Teamsters above all other fuel haulers in the area. It also brings full family covered healthcare, with no cost to the employees, which was not previously available. In addition to these clear economic gains, the contract improves vacations, holidays, seniority, and provides crucial protections against subcontracting by the employer.
“This is an historic agreement in the truest sense of the word, as it brings together Teamsters from across the state for the first time under one collective bargaining agreement,” said Teamsters Joint Council 28 President Rick Hicks. “Through the leadership of Joint Council 28 Director of Negotiations Marcus Williams, we were able to bring three separate Local Unions under one Master Agreement, which sets the stage for even greater expansion in the future. We are proud of this group of members for standing together until the job was completed. This contract shows what can be achieved when Teamsters stand together.”
