First day of negotiations went well. The Company and the Union kicked things off at 12pm with opening remarks. Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain and Fabrication for Boeing Commercial airplanes Ihssane Mounir made opening remarks for the company. International Brotherhood of Teamsters Western Region Vice President, Joint Council 28 President and Secretary-Treasurer of Local 174 Rick Hicks made opening remarks for the Union. The meeting was positive.

The Union passed our initial language proposal to the company covering the issues brought forth in the demands, addressing a wide range of topics including but not limited to bidding, vacation, holidays and jurisdiction. The company plans on responding to our proposal tomorrow. Once we are done with the language issues we will move to economics. As the Union and your bargaining team committed, we will do our best to keep everyone updated on our progress every couple of bargaining sessions at a minimum.
