The IBT has just tallied the votes on three additional UPS Supplemental Agreements. According to the IBT Constitution, the Central PA Supplement is considered to be ratified while the Western PA and Local 243 Metro Detroit Supplements are considered to be rejected. Stay tuned for any additional updates from the IBT on what this means for the process of ratifying the full UPS Agreement nationwide.
Results are as follows:
Central PA: RATIFIED
744 in favor / 43.38%
971 against / 56.62%
1715 voted out of 4419 eligible, for 38.81% turnout
Ratified due to less than 50% turnout and less than 2/3 rejection.
Western PA: REJECTED
65 in favor / 3.58%
1752 against / 96.42%
1817 voted out of 2881 eligible, for 63.07% turnout
Rejected due to 2/3 voting against.
Local 243 Metro Detroit: REJECTED
123 in favor / 11.87%
913 against / 88.13%
1036 voted out of 2286 eligible, for 45.32% turnout
Rejected due to 2/3 voting against.
