Teamsters Local Union 533 is in the process of lining up Teamsters for a large mining operation which has somewhat already started with a small crew.  The crew is building housing preparing for the mining to begin just as soon as the weather permits. The project is located just outside of McDermitt, Nevada just south a few miles from the Oregon Border.  Elevation is 4423 so there is still snow on the ground.

Bechtel Corporation is the primary and is signatory to the Northern California/Nevada Teamsters Master Agreement.  A Canadian Business will be operating the mining operation.  Brother Gary Watson, Local 533 Principal Officer, has indicated there will be a need for several classifications including;  Readymix Drivers and Rock Haul Drivers.  There is a housing allowance the amount of $800 plus a travel allowance as the closes town its Winnemuca, Nevada approximately one hour drive from McDermitt, NV.
