Contract secures economic and language improvements
It was a good weekend for Teamsters working at Builders FirstSource as they voted to ratify a strong contract that will protect and reward them for their hard work. The group of 26 load builders and drivers are responsible for packing and delivering building materials to customers throughout the region. The ratified contract includes strong wage increases, full maintenance of healthcare, increased vacation, major improvements to retirees health and welfare, plus better protections for seniority and bargaining unit work.
“This contract victory was won by solidarity and strength in the membership, no question,” said Teamsters Local 174 Secretary-Treasurer Rick Hicks. “Not only were we able to protect what we have, but we were able to make significant improvements that are going to have a measurable impact on our members during their working years and in their well-earned retirements. Everyone involved should feel proud of what we were able to accomplish with this contract.”
