Charlie,

We are reasserting the Unions position outlined in the February 18, 2022 email (attached below) which you received from Director of Negotiations Patty Warren.  After speaking to the mediator on Friday and following her meeting with the joint Employers group on Thursday, it is clear to the Union that the Employers are being disingenuous in your public statements compared to your private actions regarding these negotiations.

It is completely false for you to infer to the mediator that the Union did not vote your offer. As you know, as a matter of course the Union does not vote offers that we do not recommend. However in this case, and in another attempt to avoid a certain labor dispute, we voted your offer, in a secret ballot vote, and it was rejected 212 – 1. We then met with you again and made a significant move to reach a deal. You responded after a two hour caucus by telling your employees that you are unwilling to change the offer they rejected.

We are again demanding you and the Employers of the Companies you are representing return, in person, to the bargaining table and negotiate in “good faith” to reach a deal that will end this ridiculous labor dispute. Your actions have led to the loss of healthcare for your employees during a national pandemic after they worked tireless hours making you all millions in profits, destroyed the construction boom in our community and caused layoffs for thousands of skilled trades workers who have done nothing to deserve your unfair actions.

We are available any day, anytime and any location. Just pick up the phone and let’s get this done!

Respectfully,

Rick Hicks
